Water Connections
Water Infrastructure Installations & Diversions
At SAS Utility Services, we employ fully qualified mains and service layers, along with testing and chlorination engineers, to install water infrastructure in a safe and controlled manner. We can also conduct diversion works of existing mains under the self-lay options with local water networks.
Domestic & Commercial Water Connections
Our engineers are fully qualified under the Water SHEA (Safety, Health, and Environmental Awareness) passport and hold the relevant hygiene certificates required to install and commission water mains and services.
We are capable of carrying out single domestic water connections and are qualified to make large connections to any network in the UK. In some cases, networks may still need to make their own connections with their term contractors.
We can self-certify our installations under the Water Industry Approved Plumbers and Sector Workers (WIAPS) scheme and are fully compliant with Water Meter Installations, whether small or large. Additionally, we hold the Water Industry Regulation Scheme (WIRS) accreditation, which allows us to self-lay water pipes for any network across the UK.
Installations & Diversions for Water Mains & Services
Whether you require small services from 32mm or up to larger 710mm water mains, we can install our mains and services with Polyurethane (PE) pipe using either Butt Fusion or Electrofusion, depending on the type of work. Butt Fusion is used for both Water Mains and Gas Mains as long as PE is installed.
If there are new roads, motorways, or infrastructures that require the existing gas main to be re-sited or diverted around the proposed development, we can provide PE Diversions for all utilities.
For example, we have worked on a 6-year contract with Thames Water, installing new water mains and services to the New Convent Garden Market development. Additionally, we completed a 600mm ductile iron diversion in Oxford, as well as a 710mm PE diversion overseen by Severn Trent Water in Telford.
